Kadayawan Festival is a yearly celebration of the bountiful harvest of fruits and vegetables in the fertile lands of Davao City, Philippines. It is one of the events that the people of Davao look forward to. The Kadayawan Festival is being celebrated on the third week of August. There are so many events packed in this week-long celebration. Private establishments hold their own gimmicks and events during the Kadayawan celebration. Regular events organized by the government is also an attraction in the festivity like the Agro-Trade Fair, Product Expo, Free Concert, and other enticing events that people of Davao including people from neighboring places flock to the city.
Kadayawan Festival is being highlighted by the Indak-indak sa Dalan (street dancing) and the Floral Float Parade. The Indak-indak sa Kadalanan is participated mostly by students showing their dancing prowess and it is a contest so they really strive to do their best to win most coveted huge prizes.
The Floral Float Parade is participated by private and government organizations and floats are usually decorated by fresh flowers and fruits depicting the abundance of harvest in Davao City. Everyone is excited to witness the floral floats parade because aside from the awesome parade of colorful floats, a lot of artists also grace this event which add to the excitement of the audience and spectators in the sidewalk of the streets.
